Travan™ TR-2 Minicartridge

The Travan™ TR-2 Minicartridge offers a native capacity of 800 mega-bytes and conforms to the QIC-3010-MC format standard. Drives capable of using the TR-2 minicartridge are being planned from multiple drive manufacturers.

It is important to note that drives designed for the TR-2 cartridge are write and read compatible with the entire QIC-3010 family, and read compatible with the QIC-80 format products.

The Travan™ TR-2 Minicartridge features include:

800 megabytes of uncompressed formatted usable data (1,600 megabytes compressed).
750 ft. of high capacity 900 Oe Gamma Ferric Oxide magnetic media.
Tested for 50,800 flux transitions per inch (FTPI).
Identified by a unique hole pattern and red lockout switch.
    Up to 50 Data Tracks.
    Preformatted per QIC-3010-MC.

Plus, the Travan™ TR-2 Minicartridge offers all the standard features you've come to rely on from quality 3M quarter-inch cartridge tapes:

Black Watch™ backcoated tape helps provide data protection against static, wound-in debris, and instantaneous speed variations (ISV).
Patented NEP (No End Play) hub design minimizes vertical tape movement which improves tracking and reduces system errors.
Patented Dura-Stat™ drive roller dissipates static and extends cartridge life.
One-piece tape guide improves tracking and read/write performance.
Track repeatability of 0.0005" ensures more accurate recording -- virtually eliminating read/write errors caused by poor tracking.
Thermally stable cover and baseplate design reduces warpage and increases reliability at higher speeds and densities.
Stippled baseplate design maintains cartridge flatness, providing better tracking with reduced errors.
Surface textured anti-static drive belt creates better traction on the tape pack for uniform tape tension, providing improved high-speed/high-density recording.
